Every guide on this site started as a question Jessica ran down: what a hub assembly costs on a given vehicle, why front and rear pricing splits the way it does, how much of a labor bill traces back to a hydraulic press versus a socket wrench. Her sourcing is parts databases, published labor-rate guides, and shop-rate surveys, not her own wrench time, and she says so upfront rather than posing as a mechanic. Anywhere a question needs eyes on the actual car, the guide says that plainly instead of guessing past it. This is one of several repair-cost sites in the Encore network she writes for.

Founder and Editor. Chris built Wheel Bearing Replacement Cost and reviews new guides against the sourcing rules laid out on the editorial standards page. He does not write the guides and does not claim mechanic credentials; that side of the operation is entirely Jessica's. What he owns is the editorial line: whether the calculator's assumptions hold up, and following through on reader corrections that need more than a quick source check.
No committee, no house name
Every guide carries Jessica's name because she is the person who dug up the sourcing and wrote the sentences. There is no anonymous staff writer pool here and no invented panel of experts to look bigger than a two-person operation actually is. Should a second contributor join, the byline changes to match whoever wrote that particular page.
